Frequently Asked Questions

I've never done jiu jitsu before. Can I still join?
Absolutely. We welcome people of all skill levels, and our Fundamentals classes are built specifically to give beginners a strong base. Instructors and teammates will guide you every step of the way.
What should I wear to my first class?
Comfortable athletic clothing works great: a t-shirt or rash guard with shorts or leggings (no zippers or pockets that can catch fingers). If you attend a gi class, don't worry about owning a gi right away; just reach out before your first visit and we'll get you sorted.
What's the difference between gi and no-gi?
Gi classes are trained in the traditional jiu jitsu uniform, which allows grips on the fabric and a more methodical pace. No-gi is trained in a rash guard and shorts, with a faster, wrestling-influenced style. We hold both every week, and training the two together makes you a more complete grappler.
What ages are your kids programs for?
We welcome kids ages 4–16 across our Little Gorillas, Gorillas, and Teens programs, plus a Kids MMA class on Saturdays. Classes keep a heavy emphasis on fun while building real confidence, discipline, and respect.
How often can I train?
As often as you like. We run classes six days a week, with morning, midday, and evening options, plus an open mat every Sunday. Check the full schedule to plan your week.
When are MMA classes held?
MMA runs Thursday evenings at 7:30pm and Saturdays at 12pm, with Kids MMA at 11:30am on Saturdays, all led by professional MMA fighter Artem Lozynyak.
